“I started to struggle in Grade 10 English, so my parents brought me to KCEE. KCEE taught me writing techniques that I was not learning at school. Now my English mark is one of the highest in the class, and I hope to keep up my marks under their guidance.”

Common Questions

Grade 10 English FAQs

Who develops and teaches this program?

KCEE has over 30 years of experience in private education. Lessons are designed and developed in-house by the owners, who have extensive experience teaching the Ontario curriculum. Our teachers identify where students lose marks, strengthen fundamentals and build the consistency required for high performance.

How is KCEE different from private tutoring?

KCEE follows a structured learn-ahead curriculum rather than focusing only on schoolwork after difficulty arises. Students strengthen reading and writing foundations, encounter important skills ahead of school and develop consistent learning habits.

How are students grouped?

Students are placed in small groups based on grade level and proficiency, sometimes using a complimentary placement assessment to determine a suitable starting point.

Can a student join after the program has started?

Yes. KCEE will assess the student’s reading and writing level and determine an appropriate placement so the student can integrate smoothly.

Do teachers help with school homework and tests?

Yes. Teachers support current school questions while continuing to build understanding and prepare students ahead.

How soon can we expect to see improvement?

Improvement depends on the student’s starting point, attendance and consistency. Many students begin to see progress within a few weeks, with more stable improvement developing over a full learning cycle.

Is this program suitable for students who are already doing well?

Yes. The program helps strong students refine their understanding, improve accuracy and handle more advanced questions—often enabling them to move from the mid-90s to the highest level of performance.

What if the class schedule does not work for me?

We will do our best to accommodate scheduling requests depending on availability. Please message or email KCEE to discuss possible options.

What happens if a student misses a class?

Prior notice is required. Because lessons follow a structured progression, KCEE schedules a make-up class to help the student stay on track.

Does KCEE offer a trial class?

KCEE does not offer trial classes because each lesson builds on previous learning. A complimentary placement assessment may be arranged when appropriate.

Does KCEE offer loyalty, sibling or referral discounts?

KCEE does not offer discounts. Maintaining a consistent fee structure supports fairness and consistent program quality for all students.
